Here to collect his award
PoliticsUK Politician of the Year - Peter Reynolds!!

PETER REYNOLDS - Thank you very much indeed! (sob, sob, wipes away tear)

I am very grateful to everyone who voted for me. I think this just shows how out of touch the mainstream politicians and media are with the issues that really concern people.

MPs run scared of the cannabis issue because they are terrified of what the Daily Mail will say. Meanwhile, current policy provides no protection at all for children, consumes £500 million per annum in criminal justice resources (just for cannabis) and gifts a £6 billion market to organised crime.

CLEAR has gone from strength to strength through 2011 and I believe we will see real progress in the new year with the Home Affairs select committee into drugs policy.

Thank you very much once again. Where's the cheque?
